The IPC-HDW3849H-AS-PV-0280B-S5 is an outdoor surveillance camera from Dahua, equipped with a 1/2.8-inch Progressive CMOS sensor, offering a video resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels. The fixed 2.8 mm lens provides a viewing angle of 106 (horizontal) × 55 (vertical) × 125 (diagonal).

The Active Deterrence camera series provides a multi-dimensional security system that links video recordings with audio, information, and alarms to assess potential risks. The camera can actively warn intruders using light (red and blue in this model) and a siren, while also notifying the user in real time.

BLC (Back Light Compensation) helps correct and optimize images in conditions of underexposure or overexposure. This function divides the image into two regions, applying different exposure levels to each, resulting in a more balanced image of the focused object. HLC (Highlight Compensation) reduces the intensity of strong light sources such as headlights or spotlights.

With its intelligent dual-light mechanism, the camera automatically turns on white light when the perimeter protection/SMD Plus function detects a target in the designated area to capture clear and vivid images. When the target leaves the area, the camera automatically switches from white light to IR light to significantly reduce light pollution.

True WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) technology compensates for lighting issues by automatically adjusting shutter speed. It captures two images at different exposure levels and combines them into one balanced image with both bright and dark details clearly visible.

With an additional white LED, the camera provides night illumination up to a maximum distance of 30 m. It has an IP67 protection rating against external elements such as rain and dust. Power is supplied via 12 VDC or PoE (802.3af), and the operating temperature range is -40C to +60C.
